Happy Friday! I am beyond ecstatic for the weekend to begin. My kiddos and fiance will be home with me all weekend. The perfect time to start some spring projects!
I’ve got lots of construction paper and sewing projects for myself and my girls this weekend. What I really want to do is work with Abigail with not eating the play-doh when we play.
Thank Gosh It’s Friday (TGIF)
Organize Your Home
My organizing skills are beyond ridiculous. I don’t have much enthusiasm for organizing but once I get started it actually turns pretty fun! Turn on some music, pour yourself a glass of wine and get organizing. But of course with little ones it gets a little tricky to do things around the house. I normally give them a water bottle and let them ‘wash’ my windows while I organize the room.
Paint a Wall
I love to paint. Although I haven’t painted a wall in my house since Abigail still in my womb. I really want to switch things up and a weekend would definitely give me the time to get a few walls painted! Painting is also supposed to help clear the the mind, with some music and wine you could do wonders with your wall!
Play Board Games
My favorite board game is Monopoly or Rumikub. I kick butt at Rumikub and my fiance tends to get mad. Abigail is too young to play with us cause she will just stick the pieces in her mouth but Grace loves to play and help us out with our next moves.
Sew a Project
I have found a new passion for sewing. I love all the fabric designs that I can choose from and all the fun projects I can make. With sewing comes new adventures. My Singer Sewing Machine is amazing, I had some trouble cutting fabric but now with my new printer I can print out patterns to help me!
Binge Watch a Netflix Show
Netflix and Hulu are one of the top two streaming services for movies and TV shows. Our favorite shows are Dora the Explorer, Doc McStuffins, The Rugrats (for the kids), and for us adults we like, Desperate House Wives, NCIS, Hawaii Five-O, Supernatural, and other crime stopper shows.
Bake Some Desserts
I do enjoy a little baking here and there. Maybe try baking some homemade cookies, brownies or just go buy a boxed brownie package like I normally would do. Who has time for all the ingredients to make things from scratch? Not me!
Brush Your Dog/Cat or Bathe Them
Grooming your pet on a weekend you have off can be very comforting. Pets give us unconditional love and depend on us to care for them. This includes daily or regular grooming and brushing. This will also help them with their shedding and dander. With a child who has asthma it is important for me to do regular brushing.
Go for a Walk
Granted it’s been pretty chilly here lately but bundle up those kiddos, the fiance and the pets. Take them out of the house. Keeping yourself cooped up will just cause tension. I’ve been cooped up for the last 3 days at home. One with a sick kiddo and I’ve been under the weather for the past two days. This flu season has everyone on edge and when mom is sick, no one is happy. Getting out of the house would do your family and yourself some good if you’ve been cooped up.
Take the Kids to the Park
The park is a great way to let your kids blow off some of that energy they’ve been holding in. You can also have fun watching your little ones play and just enjoy themselves. We have a big park that Grace loves to go to and I’m hoping I’m feeling up to it to take them there this weekend.
Create Some Projects from Construction Paper and Glue
Grace loves to create projects and it’s so fun watching her make things! I have lots of construction paper in my storage closet that we still have to use up and this weekend seems perfect to start using it! Before it collects dust.
I am hoping that it might be a little nice outside so we can have some fun in the yard. I would love to get things cleaned up and just get some fresh air. It’s been a long while since any of us have spent some time outside together just chilling and having fun. Or cleaning up!
Do Some Laundry
Everyone who knows me knows that I hate laundry. It’s my worst chore and I hardly ever get any done to be honest. It’s not bad until you have to fold all those tiny kid clothes and match missing pairs of socks. But it has to get done in order for us to have clean clothes and be able to look nice if and when we decide to go out of the house.
